Two years of living in the UK

Hi, everyone.

I’m sorry I haven’t been in touch for a bit long. I’ve been very busy. Anyway yesterday it was two years since I moved to the UK to live there permanently. It hasn’t always been easy to live in the UK for me as a Norwegian, and I have often missed Norway and family and friends there, but all in all I’ve gradually gotten more and more settled in the UK and am now much more at ease in the UK than in the start.

Today I have yet again gone to Norway for a little holiday and this time I have my husband with me to Norway for the first time since we got married, so this visit is extra special and nice for me.

We are visiting my parents in my birth city Stavanger this weekend, and being in the city where my life on earth started is very nice. However it is even better to think about that God saw me before I was born and that he had planned my existence. He had a very good plan for me and saw me as I was being formed in my mothers womb, and he loves me with an eternal love. The same goes also for you.

You are loved by God with a never ending love. He planned your existence and saw your unformed body before you were born. He has a very good plan for you and showed his love for you by letting his son Jesus die for you.

Enjoy your weekend, all of you! I’ll enjoy mine in Norway.

And remember: God loves you.

The Blessings of a Morning Walk

Good morning! :)

Not long ago I came back home from another morning walk. I am not used to going on a morning walk and have only tried it a few times spread out here and there before, but last week was different. You see, for the first time in my life I went for a morning walk several days in a row last week, and some of the walks even started at nine, which was a time I had decided upon was going to be the starting time of my morning walk. My husband and I had made a very good arrangement for the week on Sunday evening the 8th of January, and one of the most important parts of the arrangement was that I was going to have a daily morning walk. With a very good deal with my husband, including a reward I would get if I kept to our deal, I was inspired and motivated for making sure I had my daily morning walk.

My first morning walk in the new year was Monday last week. I walked to a nature area nearby and spent some time there, and I really enjoyed my walk time. The next morning I had an appointment at ten, so then I rearranged my plans and had my morning walk as I walked to the appointment. Then on Wednesday and Thursday last week I started walking at nine again, and I had nice walks in the same nature area I had been walking in the first day I’d had my morning walk last week. Finally, on Friday, I had a doctor’s appointment at 8.30, so I had my morning walk on my way to the appointment, and I had to start the walk extra early, namely some minutes after eight. This morning I had been very excited by seeing that it was snowing around seven o clock in the morning, and I enjoyed walking outside in snow that morning. Even though there wasn’t very much snow, I still enjoyed it. I like to have snow outside in the winter time, and it reminds me of Norway, my home country, so that’s nice, and it makes me feel happy.

In the weekend I didn’t go for any morning walk, and in the start of this week, I had a set back and got up too late for my nine o clock morning walk, but today I had a fresh start and had my morning walk. I wasn’t ready exactly at nine o clock today, but I was ready some minutes afterwards and still had a walk, and it was very nice to be back on track again with having my morning walk.

So what are the blessings of a morning walk? Here are some I’ve found:

  • It gives you a good start to your day.
  • It gives you a little exersice.
  • It gives you fresh air.
  • It gives you sunshine if the sun is shining.
  • It lets you see variations in the weather and in nature.
  • It can make you feel good about yourself and ready for your day.

Just go for it! :)

A Lovely Stay in Norway

This last weekend I’ve visited my parents in Norway and had a lovely stay. It has been great being in Norway again after not having been there for almost one year and often missing Norway a lot the last months.

I’ve enjoyed lots of hood fellowship, met my brother David too, and enjoyed Norwegian food and nature to mention something.

Hi. I’m back again, this time in England. The above text I wrote on Sola airport in Norway. As I was in the air I wrote a poem about my lovely weekend in Norway:

A Lovely Weekend in Norway

Being picked up by my brother David and having a little chat in the car on the way to my parents place

Being with my parents, having a typical Norwegian dinner – made just because of me

— love in thoughtfulnes and action

Receiving love from my paretns in so many ways, being touched and uplifted again and again

Relaxing with my parents and watching some online TV programmes

Eating a slice of bread with Norwegian brown cheese on and drinking a glass of Norwegian milk

Enjoying a long night’s sleep and soon after a bubbly bath in a Jacuzzi

Eating my mother’s nice rice porridge for lunch

Going for a short walk and finding nice gifts in a little gift shop

Enjoying having the house to myself as my parents were out in the evening

Eating the Norwegian Grandiosa pizza and lots of tasty snacks and sweets

Going for a day trip of sightseeing on Sunday with my parents – because they cancelled their plans of attending a church gathering to spend their day with me

— love in action

Walking up a hill and seeing great views of my birth city Stavanger and the surrounding areas around

Wandering through a forest and having a good time with my parents

Taking lots of photos and having fun

Going to a place of memory for the Norwegian kingdom

Enjoying the sun, fresh air and the sea breeze

Seeing three gigantic swords on a mountain base

Also noticing artistic photos photo motives

Using my dad’s photo camera from around that time, as my own phone had no more battery usage left

Going to a third place, a memorial place next to the sea

Watching marvellous views and thanking God for Norway

Walking and jumping from stone to stone, feeling active, healthy and happy

Enjoying the very strong wind together with the fresh air tainted by a sea smell

Enjoying time with my parents, loving them, Norway and Jesus

Coming back home to my parents place and eating a very nice Sunday dinner with beef steak and vegetables

Eating a sweet and very nice dessert

Relaxing and having “kaffikos” – a little cake meal – with my parents and my brother David who came visiting for a while – enjoying chatting and family time

Having a time of talking about important matters and praying together with my kind parents in the end

Having had a lovely and blessed weekend with my lovely parents :) and then saying farewells in the morning of today, Monday

Now looking forward to meeting my husband again :)

Celebration Times

Today, the 20th of December, I’ve had a very nice day with a lot of family time and celebration. Like I have mentioned before, my parents are over from Norway, and they are staying with us for some days. Today Jonathan, my husband and I, also had a day visit of my sister and her family. We hadn’t seen them since our wedding, so it was very nice to meet them again. We celebrated my birthday that was yesterday and my dad’s birthday that is tomorrow. My mother made a lovely Norwegian Christmas dinner for us today, and she had also made a nice birthday cake and brought some little cakes from Norway for us. We had a lot of  fellowship together and exchanged Christmas gifts with each other too. After my sister and her family had left, I watched a very good film called “Courageous” with my husband and my parents.

Tomorrow we will continue celebrating my dad when it’s his birthday, the 21st of December.

I am blessed. God is good. :)

Good night.

A Lovely Birthday

Today I’ve had a lovely birthday, celebrated with my husband and my parents in the morning, gone to a very nice Christmas party in the church and celebrated with two lady friends in the evening.

(I just clicked on the publish button too late again, so that the date of my publish text become the wrong one, the one I didn’t want, again, but at least I know that I’m writing around midnight, and that my birthday that has just gone by, the 19th of December, is my birthday and that I’ve just written this text a bit late. I started writing just right before midnight and tried sending out the text above before midnight, but was just too late again (like last night), but the main thing is that I’m telling about my lovely birthday, and now it’s only four minutes past midnight – it’s just become later and later as I’ve written this. Now I’ll soon tell you some more…)

In the morning I got a lovely handmade birthday card from my creative and sweet husband Jonathan, and I enjoyed a long and late birthday breakfast with him and my parents where I opened many nice gifts and had fun. Later on, some time after my husband had gone to work, I enjoyed a nice lunch with my parents and my friend Grace, and then we attended a very nice Christmas party in my church The Living Word where we socialized and also watched a very nice nativity play where the children did very well in the performance, and we got to see acting, singing and dancing. I met many different people, also people I hadn’t met before, and I had a very good time.

During my day I’ve received many nice greetings and hugs, and I’ve had many nice phone calls, including family people calling me, and some of my family members even sung for me on the phone, which was very nice.

In the evening I’ve enjoyed a very nice little party with my good friends Elodie and Grace. My parents went out for a meal and were gone for most of the time when my lady friends visited me. Grace and I made some food, and Elodie joined us a bit later and helped us prepare for our celebration time. We enjoyed a very nice meal, and we really enjoyed our time together. My husband joined our party not long after he had come back from work around half past ten and after I had finished watching a film with my lady friends, and then we ate a lovely cake my very kind mother had made for me with assistance from my fabulous dad. I’ve got lovely parents who’s helped out very much this day, and also the other days they’ve been here lately.

Now in between as I’ve written this blog text I’ve had breaks and spent time with my lovely husband. Now I’m very tired and will go to bed soon. I’m sitting and writing in a sofa in our living room as my husband is relaxing and watching “Match of the day”.

I’m very blessed and have had a very lovely birthday and had a lot of good experiences and many lovely and happy moments. I’ve been smiling and laughing a lot. The day that has just gone by and was finished about half an hour ago has been a very nice one for me.

I’m blessed. Thanks to God, my God, for a lovely birthday! :) Jesus is my Saviour, my Lord and King, and my God. He has blessed me with a wonderful birthday. :) Thanks to Jesus! 😀 Juhoo! 😀

Visit from Norway

Yesterday my parents came over from Norway to visit me and my husband for some days and meet up with both us and my sister and her family, who will join us on Sunday when we’ll celebrate my and my dad’s birthday.

It’s very nice to have my parents visiting, and they’re helping out a lot in the house and is a big blessing for me and my husband.

I’m very delayed in all the things I’ve got to do before Christmas, but God is good and is with me all the time.

Good night.

Addition added right after midnight the 19th of December:

I wrote this blog text during the last minutes of the 18th of December 2015. I wanted to publish the text before midnight, so that it would be registered on the right date, but I got delayed with a few seconds, and when I finally clicked the publish button, it just turned midnight just as I clicked or right after I had clicked the button, and it said 00:00 on my computer screen, so I thought that maybe I had clicked publish just a tiny bit too late, and it turned out that I had. Anyway, now you know I wrote the text on the 18th of December, the day before my birthday, which is the 19th, and when I wrote “yesterday” I meant Thursday the 17th. Now it’s a few minutes past midnight on the 19th of December, and my husband Jonathan has just come home from work, and he kissed me and wished me a happy birthday right after the date had turned into the 19th on my computer screen. He’s very sweet and lovely. :) Now I’ll go and eat some evening food with him and then go to bed. Good night. :)

Newly Married!

Hi, everyone,

Yuhoo! 😀 I’m newly married! 😀 Yuhoo! 😀

The 3rd of October I got married to my prince, my dear Jonathan, who had been my fiance for over two years and whom I’d known for almost three years, my sweet prince and darling, yes, my gift from God.

I was very excited about and looked very much forward to marrying my prince Jonathan, and I had waited a long time for marrying him, and we’d even experienced postponing a wedding we’d planned having last year, so it was very good to finally marry my dear Jonathan.

Here you can see me on the morning of the wedding day in the hotel room I stayed in the night before I got married, and where I also did my last preparations for the wedding:

20151003_120450 (Rutti som brud klart hår med Elodie)I was very happy about the hairstyle I had chosen and that I received on the wedding day, and I thought my hairstyle and my hair looked beautiful and romantic, and I thought that my bridegroom would like it too, and he did. :) He also liked my viking styled wedding dress, and I really liked his prince Edward suit and his hairstyle. I thought my prince Jonathan looked gorgeous. He was and still is my English prince. I was and still am his Norwegian princess.

Jonathan, my prince, and I, had a lovely, wonderful and unforgettable wedding day, and we enjoyed our day very much, with Jesus there with us through our day and with Jesus getting a lot of attention and praise, Jesus, our Saviour, who has saved us and helped us through many things. God had brought us together, and God joined us in the holy covenant of marriage on 3rd of October 2015. Jonathan and I were very excited and happy about becoming husband and wife, and here you see us as a newly married bride and bridegroom inside the church we got married in, on our way out:

“What God has joined together, let no man separate”.

20151003_231131Our fingers with our wedding rings on.

Jonathan and I have been on a lovely honeymoon, and after that we’ve often been very busy, and now we’ve been married for 20 days, and finally – after thinking much about it – I’ve come around to writing about marrying Jonathan on my blog. I’m sorry I haven’t written until now. I was so excited about having married Jonathan that I was even considering blogging about it while being on the honeymoon, but I decided in the end that it was best to not spend time on blogging and rather just spend as much time as possible with Jonathan and enjoy my honeymoon with him, and I decided it would be better to write on my blog soon after coming home from our honeymoon. Unfortunately, I’ve kept on getting delayed and not coming around to blogging, much because my life often has been very busy lately, but at least now I’ve written some words about getting married here, and now I’ve gotten to tell you my good news and to share some photos in relation to getting married. Perhaps I will tell more about getting married another day, and perhaps I’ll also add in some more photos here.

In any case, I’m now Mrs. Burton, and I’m my dear husband’s wife. :)

Take care, and have a blessed weekend, everyone! :)

Ruth Kristin, the newly married Mrs. Burton :)

On Wednesday I had a very nice and relaxed day at a friend’s place in Lyngdal, not so far from Kristiansand, in the south of Norway. I think I needed that relaxed day. However, in the afternoon and evening I met different people again, and I spent the night at another place than the night before, and then the next morning – that’s on Thursday, yesterday – I met even more people. In other words, I was travelling a lot around for some days, visiting and meeting up with many different people, and I also met people that I hadn’t planned to meet, and my days were very busy and intense. In the middle of it all I didn’t get enough sleep and rest over these days.

After the intensive period of travelling a lot and being very active and social and meeting many people and having little time for myself, when I was back at my parents’ place in Stavanger yesterday I got a reaction and cried a lot after we had eaten dinner. I was very tired and felt exhausted. I was very emotional and cried quite a lot for a while. I believe I was overloaded. I had a feeling of everything being too much for me and that I hadn’t had enough time to rest or to be alone, and I decided I needed to rest. Soon after this I took a time of relaxing and resting alone in the guestroom I used.

After a little time of resting I was social again for a while before I again withdrew to be alone, but this time I withdrew through having a bubble bath in the jacoozi in the flat I visited, a flat my parents rent now. No one in my family had ever tried out the jacoozi before, and I was the first to try it out. It was very nice to use it, but unfortunately I didn’t know how to turn it off, and I didn’t manage to get it off no matter what I tried, and it took a long time before it switched itself off by itself, but my mother had then prayed for God’s help, which was very good, so I believe God helped us, but soon after the fire alarm in the hall way outside the bathroom went off, and then it repeated itself three times! It was so much steam coming from the bathroom. It was all quite crazy and funny. :) It gave me and my parents a laugh. :)

It helped to have some time alone and some time to take it easy yesterday, but today – Friday – I’ve travelled back to England and had a busy day and still feel very tired and not at my best, so I feel I need to relax, rest and sleep a lot this weekend and the coming days, and start gathering new strength.

We must listen to our bodies, and we must try to avoid being overloaded.

PS. By the way, today I’ve been very encouraged and happy by a very positive event that took place in my life today, but I can’t tell you what it is right now, but hopefully I can tell you about it tomorrow.

NB! I also want to say that I’ve met my fiance Jonathan again today, and it’s been lovely being with him and enjoying good moments with him again. We’ve got a great future ahead, and I’m looking very much forward to marrying my dear darling, my precious prince and my handsome husband to be, Jonathan, my love. :)

Good night, everyone! :)

Enjoying Meeting People Again

Yesterday I visited my uncle called onkel Sigurd and my auntie Marit. I had not seen them in many years, and it was very nice to see them again.

Today I have met many people I know,  also some I didn’t  expect to see, like a friend I had lost touch with. It has been so nice, and I have had a lovely day.

Text added in 22/5:

I was writing in bed and also added the text below, wanting to tell about having met several people I know in the Kristiansand area and that I would sleep, and I also had wanted to write “Thanks to God” and also “Good night” I think, but as you can see from the text below, it is not a good idea to do blogging late at night when you’re tired:

Today I have met several people that I know in the Kritiansand and now I will sleep. Thanks tHg Hod

The Norwegian National Day 2015

Hi, and Congratulations to all Norwegians around the world and to everyone in Norway on the Norwegian National Day 2015! :)

Today I’ve enjoyed being in Norway and celebrating the National Day of Norway with my parents. :)

Here are some “tasters” from my lovely day in my birth city Stavanger, the first day I’ve celebrated the national day here since I was 2 years old:

20150517_100731The start of the children’s prosession in the morning

20150517_100836A nice example from the prosession where mainly schools are represented

20150517_131419A sweet 17th of May decoration in my parents’ flat

20150517_132040My mother made a lovely lunch for the three of us, my parents and I.

20150517_164127My dad and I watched the afternoon parade where many organizations and different groups of people were walking in front of us, and many of the contributors to the prosession were entertaining us with dances or other nice acts.

20150517_180857My mother made lovely cakes in the honour of our national day.

In the evening we shared cakes and icecream with some guests from my parents’ Bible home group, and I got to meet these people for the first time, and it was very nice.

And lastly I want to mention that my wonderful fiance Jonathan gave me a lovely 17th of May poem where he among other things wished me a day of cheer and called me his Norwegian beauty queen. *** My dearest, Jonathan, thank you again for your lovely poem!  I’ve missed you today, and I love you very much. ***

Thanks to God for my beautiful and lovely country Norway, my dear home country with peace and freedom! And thanks to God for a very nice and blessed 17th of May 2015! :)

Hurray for Norway! :)

Be blessed, everyone! :)
